DANVILLE, VA. – Significant savings are available for a limited time on season passes for VIRginia International Raceway’s 2008 season. The passes are available online through the <<ONLINE TICKETS>> link on the track’s homepage at www.virclub.com, at www.etix.com or by calling the track’s ticket office at 434-822-7700 ext 116. These make a great gift for the enthusiast on your holiday shopping list, whether their preference is cars, motorcycles or both.
“The early purchase season pass is an amazing value,” said VIR’s General Manager, Josh Lief. “When you take into consideration the cost of individual tickets, preferred parking and much simpler entry into the events, it is a great bargain.” With a calendar even more filled with action than last year, this year’s race schedule at VIR includes a new Sports Car Club of America “Double National” weekend, April 12-13. This race will provide a full day of racing on both Saturday and Sunday as some of America’s best sports car racers compete for the honor of racing for a national championship in the winner-take-all Runoffs© to close the National race season. The early purchase price of $250 (through January 4, 2008) makes season tickets an over $100 savings compared to individual ticket prices for spectator events at the track. When paired with the preferred parking access the season pass provides, the benefit is even greater. Fill your holiday gift needs and save money at the same time with VIR season passes &8209; the perfect gift for your favorite race fan or a great incentive for employees and clients of automotive businesses. VIR’s calendar for 2008 includes a new Sports Car Club of America double-national race April 12-13; the April 26-28 return of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototypes, plus exciting supporting events still to be announced, the June 6-8 “Wings and Wheels” air and car show combined with the always popular Heacock Classic Gold Cup Historic Races, returning this year featuring All American Muscle. The AMA Big Kahuna Superbike National on August 15-17 is another major attraction, growing each year. GT Live and the KONI Challenge weekend of October 3-5 brings a combination of motorcycle stunts, drifting, track attack and endurance sports car races; all combined with a variety of amateur and vintage road racing throughout the year. Once again, the final major race of the season is the 13-hour enduro for Sports Car Club of America racers. This year’s ‘Charge of the Headlight Brigade runs Saturday, November 1.
