Club Ferdinand Gives Fans Porsche Thrills at Big Kahuna |
Club Ferdinand, the world’s only “Fleet Sharing Club” composed exclusively of an extensive collection of Porsches is joining forces with The Mast Farm Inn once again to give three lucky fans the “stay and drive package” of a lifetime at The VIRginia International Raceway’s AMA Superbike Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals.
The world famous Mast Farm Inn will host three lucky fans courtesy of
Club Ferdinand after they attend the Big Kahuna at VIRginia
International Raceway, August 15-17. Three lucky ticket purchasers will
be selected to win a certificate good for two nights at the Inn, plus
the use of one of the Club Ferdinand collection Of Porsches.
World famous for its multi-faceted accommodations and beauty, the inn,
located at Valle Crucis, N.C. just a few minutes from the Blue Ridge
Parkway, will provide a lodging and a Porsche gift certificate package
valid for use up to two years after the race.
“The fans who won last year had what they called the best experience
possible,” said event promoter Cameron Gray, of M1 Entertainment. “This
year, with more to do and see at the track, we plan to improve on that
experience for the lucky trio of winners.”
“We were extremely pleased with everything last year,” said Mast Farm
Inn and Club Ferdinand’s Henri Deschamps. “It was an impeccable,
ultra-professional event, with a hefty serving of good-old-fashioned
fun.... And We love VIR,” he commented. “Although in Virginia We
consider it our home track.”
For the second year in a row, Club Ferdinand will also provide the pace
car for the Big Kahuna: after last year’s Porsche 911 Carrera 4
TechArt, this time the 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo. This turbocharged, 3.6
liter, 480 hp speedster is capable of running superbike-style
acceleration, with zero to sixty times well under four seconds, and a
40-60 sprint in under one second, Using Porsche’s Variable Turbine
Geometry to virtually eliminate turbo lag, the all wheel drive uses
Porsche Traction Management to meet the challenge of putting so much
power to the road while keeping the car manageable.
Founded in 2005, Club Ferdinand is the first Exotic Car Sharing, or
"Fleet-Sharing Club," in the world composed exclusively of the
legendary Porsche automobiles. Club Ferdinand’s fleet of cars is always
growing, most recently with this star addition a new 2008 Turbo. “It
does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, can probably hit 175 (mph) on your back
straight, and can actually reach 198. I’ve had it up to 170 on the
track and it is smooth” added Deschamps.
“The combination of a cottage at The Mast Farm Inn and a new Porsche
for a weekend make these prizes unequalled,” added Gray. “With the
thrills of Superbike racing, the luxury of Mast Farm Inn and a Porsche
for a weekend all combined, it’s an experience that will be remembered
by our winners forever.”
Tickets for the Big Kahuna are selling fast, with only a few of the
Trackside VIP Suite tickets still available. For more information on
the many ticket options available, check out the promoter’s web site
at: www.moto1usa.com or call them at 303-377-3278.
There is more to the Big Kahuna than just motorcycle racing. The Big
Kahuna Big Give supports motorcycle safety and education for young
riders with the Ethan Gillim “Chasin a Dream” foundation, along with
the fight against breast cancer. A donation of only $3 to the raffle
could win the grand prize of a 2008 Suzuki GSX-R600 along with an Arai
helmet and complete riding gear. Other prizes range from an Arai helmet
signed by past and present stars of AMA and World Superbike and MotoGP,
to a Leo Vince exhaust system, a Makita drill kit and a year’s supply
of RockStar energy drink.
About M1 Entertainment: At M1 Entertainment, our goal is to provide
fans with more than just a motorcycle race. Our events include extra
attractions and entertainment for the whole family, creating a truly
unique experience for the devoted fan and the beginning spectator. To
that end, we are always ready to listen to the people to help make our
events even better.
M1 Entertainment is best known as the creator and promoter of the Honda
Superbike Classic at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. For 10 years, the Honda
Superbike Classic was one of the most successful motorcycle events in
the U.S., drawing close to 100,000 fans over the three-day schedule. It
was the only event in the world to combine the World Superbike series
on the same weekend.
Other notable M1 Entertainment events have included The Big Kahuna
Nationals at Road Atlanta (1998-2000), The Reno Supermoto Classic in
2004 and the Red Bull Supermoto A-Go-Go in 2005. Our current events
include the Suzuki CycleFest (2003-present) in Copper Mountain,
Colorado, and the awesome Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals at VIRginia
International Raceway - our inaugural event taking place in August of
2005 with five more years under contract through 2010.
A Denver-based company, M1 Entertainment has been working in
motorsports for 15 years. Originally spawned from Daniels Corporation
under the name FAST, the fledgling company was heavily involved in
television production for car and motorcycle racing. With the birth of
Speedvision in 1995, FAST took an advertising sales and event
promotion, in addition to television production duties.
Now under the umbrella of Fox Television Networks, Speed Channel
(formerly Speedvision) is thriving. FAST morphed into M1 Entertainment
(Race Promotion Management) and now is operating as M1 Entertainment
with many of the same staff still in place. We still sell advertising
for Speed Channel and promote our own events, keeping us busy
year-round.
