Team-Building in the Fast Lane: A Quick, but Fun, Lesson in Working Together |
|
On a recent morning at VIRginia International Raceway, the 5/8-mile Plantation Valley Kart Track was abuzz with activity. A group of 20 were forming up in teams and planning a kart endurance race. As might be expected, there was a lot of “trash talk” about who was going to beat whom, interspersed with the occasional verbal jab regarding height and weight. There was laughing, joking and back-slapping going on, and plenty of good-natured ribbing, while the smell of hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill wafted through the air.
Not exactly your average corporate team-building exercise, but that’s what it was. |

Piloti Driving Shoes Named Official Footwear of VIR |
|
Danville, Va. (Feb. 8) – VIRginia International Raceway is pleased to announce that Piloti Driving Shoes has been named the Official Footwear of VIR. Piloti is a California-based company that produces high-tech footwear specifically designed for the enthusiast or professional driver.
Athletic footwear designer Kevin A. Beard founded Piloti in 1999 to pursue something he always wanted to do: Create a line of authentic driving shoes that would not only be innovative in how they perform in racing conditions, but also stylish and comfortable enough for the street. Using his background in biomechanics and design, he created a line of shoes using Piloti’s exclusive, patented Roll Control™ heel technology, Nomex® fire-resistant lining, reinforced heel-&-toe areas, tough double-row stitching, and an outer sole reminiscent of the racing tread pattern used in the ‘50s. |
