Snapple Kart League Details Announced at VIR

League details have been confirmed for the Snapple Kart League at VIRginia International Raceway’s Plantation Valley Kart Track.

With sponsorship from Lawrence Distributing Company and Snapple Beverage Company, the kart league’s sponsorship will feature Snapple’s Antioxidant Water products. “Snapple’s Antioxidant Water product line offers a smart solution that improves energy, helps restore the body and supports a healthy immune system,” said Barry Dalton, vice president of Lawrence Distributing Company. “For consumers who are actively taking steps to incorporate healthier behaviors into their everyday routine, we feel that this sponsorship is a perfect match. For the karting and racing lifestyle at Plantation Valley, and in every form of motorsport, the drivers, crew and even spectators experience extreme conditions for the body to deal with. Snapple’s Antioxidant Water products offer a flavorful and refreshing way to protect and restore all that a human body needs to keep a competitive edge.”

Already attracting entries from a variety of groups, the new Snapple Kart League will open on Feb. 16 and run through November 6. The team entry fee is $1000, plus a $25 per driver competition license fee. Teams can nominate as many drivers as they wish, with two drivers from each team counting for points each weekend. With three of the weekends counting double points, teams will be competing for both prizes and bragging rights, plus weekly medallions for winners and handsome trophies at season’s end.

“The newest addition to activities at VIR means we will have even more guests enjoying our race track,” said Plantation Valley manager Michael Fowlkes. “We want everyone to have a great time when they visit us and this is one more thing we can add to the flavor of VIR.”

Teams wishing to register still have time to enter, with the season entry fee only $1,000, plus a $25 license fee per driver. Any number of drivers may be registered with a team and a team may have two drivers in each week’s events, with the better finish counting for points. At season’s end, when points are totaled, who will be the top team?

To register your team or for more information on the Snapple Kart League, contact Michael ‘Skeeter’ Fowlkes, the Kart Track Manager, at 434-822-7700, ext. 350 or email him at mfowlkes@virclub.com.
